Bank of America sued

Arizona and Nevada attorneys general filed suit against Bank of America on Friday charging that the lender misled home owners who tried to modify their mortgages.

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Masto said the lawsuit is a last ditch effort to compel the bank to deal fairly with borrowers in two of the nation’s most foreclosure-prone states.

Bank of America spokesperson Dan Frahm said the bank shares the goal of helping home owners. “We are disappointed that the suits were filed at this time, however, because we and other major servicers are currently engaged in multistate discussions . . . to try to address foreclosure related issues more comprehensively.”
